… Suspends lined-up birthday activities in honour of Baba Agbade
The Turaki of Ilorin Emirate and lawmaker representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the revered spiritual leader and Khalifah of the Tijaniyyah Movement in Kwara State, Sheikh Abubakar Yusuf Agbade, describing the loss as both personal and communal.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Senator Mustapha described the demise of Khalifa Abubakar Yusuf Agbade as a heavy blow not only to the Tijaniyyah sect, but also to Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and indeed the entire Muslim Ummah.
“Baba Agbade was not just a spiritual leader, he was a fountain of wisdom, a guide to many, and a shining light whose life was dedicated to the service of Allah and the upliftment of humanity. His footprints of humility, knowledge, and sacrifice will remain indelible in our hearts”, he said.
The Turaki of Ilorin Emirate commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the immediate family of the late Khalifa, the Tijaniyyah Movement in Kwara, Nigeria, and worldwide, praying Allah to forgive Baba’s shortcomings and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
As a mark of respect for the deceased, Senator Mustapha has directed his friends, family members, political associates, and well-wishers to suspend all activities lined up for the celebration of his birthday, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, 25th September 2025.
The Senator urged all faithful to remember the late Khalifa in prayers and to continue the work of peace, unity, and spiritual devotion which he championed throughout his lifetime.
